Fudge puppies are a great vendor food sold at fairs and carnivals. They are chocolate covered Belgian waffles rolled in different toppings. Like many fair foods, they are served on a stick, a great grab-and-go food. They are made in special waffle makers that are smaller and shaped like a corndog. When making the waffles, place a stick in the batter so they are ready when the waffle is finished cooking and then are dipped directly into the chocolate. Since the sticks are generally round, you can use the stick to turn the waffle and spin off the excess chocolate. Although they can be served just dipped in chocolate, they are also served with toppings for example, rolled in chopped nuts, such as peanuts, or chocolate or colored sprinkles. They even can be topped with whipped cream. Bottom line is, the more you dress them up, the more they sell for.
